Vision and executive ability, plus talent for inspiring cooperation among associates, marked the life and career of Brother Lambert Thomas Matthews, former president of CBC.

Dedicated to a life of teaching, Brother Lambert Thomas went far beyond that mission to re-establish Christian Brothers as a college after it had held only high school status for a period; he was a major moving force in establishing the engineering program at CBC, a program respected far and wide.

His ministrations here as president of CBC showered blessings on hundreds of young people, and brought immeasurable benefits to the mid-South.

CBC and its School of Engineering stand as monuments to his vision and energy.
